Weaving the Narrative Threads of Our Lives

The 3D AIDS Quilt was born out of the realization that the key to eradicating HIV/AIDS lies in three basic principles – Education, Empathy and Empowerment. Education to raise awareness about prevention and treatment; empathy to debunk the stigmas and stereotypes associated with HIV infection; and the empowerment that results from having the knowledge and the tools to make a difference in the fight against AIDS.

To date, the Quilt includes 80+ rooms and plans are being made to add additional rooms designed specifically to celebrate the stories of those living with HIV.

A variety of individuals and organizations have contributed to the Quilt, including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, The Triangle Global Health Initiative, and Research Triangle International.  To tour the Quilt, learn how your organization can contribute, or become part of the global effort, visit the 3D AIDS Quilt web site (www.3DAIDSQuilt.com) or contact us at: info@karunahiv.com
