Karuna: Celebrate Life!

Memorial Mountain
Memorial Mountain at the Heart of Karuna
Memorial Mountain began as a simple, single lump of land.  It resembled nothing so much as a broken tooth, and it was hard to imagine it as inspirational.  Nevertheless, we plannted two trees, posted a plaque with an inspirational poem on it between the trees, and lit a flame. Then we got busy building the a mountain with cascading waterfalls, a 50-foot viewer for pictures, an observation deck that looks out over all of Karuna, and a special hidden cave with crystals that sing.

Today Memorial Mountain stands as a tribute to the lives of those we've lost to HIV/AIDS.  The viewer is used to display the remarkable work of Second Life photographers, and we regularly takes tourists to the observation deck to get a feel for the scope of what's available on Karuna.

Stop by to listen to the rushing water and let the mountain inspire and calm you.  It is the heart of Karuna and stand s a testatment to the strength and tenacity of the human spirit.
