Leveraging the unique properties 
of immersive media to engage, educate and empower
Begun in 2008 with a generous grant from the National Library of Medicine, Karuna has grown from a single island in Second Life to a global initiative that spans multiple worlds and a variety of media platforms.  The goals of the initiative are simple, but compelling - use the power of immersive stories to educate, create empathy and empower others to make a difference in the fight against AIDS.  To that end we have created a variety of projects that are both entertaining and effective in raising both awareness and funds.
